2020 has brought with it numerous challenges which has tested among many things, our ability to do work and life online. This has been of real impact to our rural communities.

These challenges have also impacted how we meet for this year's symposium. To ensure we can gather stories and hear updates, we've made the decision to use the very technology we're talking about. This year's event will be a combination of online and in person meetings.

Day 1 - 16th Sept from 1pm - 3:30pm will be an online Webinar with speakers providing an update on progress on improving connectivity in rural NZ.

Day 2 - 17th Sept from 1pm - 5pm will be a combination of online and in person. You can choose to participate completely online, or attend in person at one of our in person hubs in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington or Christchurch. This day is all about our aspirations - where we are headed and what do we want?

When you register for the event please make sure you choose the ticket that matches your choice of online against in person on day 2.

We want to bring the full focus back to the sector that this is all about - rural Aotearoa New Zealand. And while we will still be asking some of the key players to update us on progress, we really want to talk about the impact of what's being done - addressing what will it deliver, what are the benefits for rural business and communities, and then helping decision makers understand what rural NZ really wants from them. Obviously there is all sorts of discussion to come out of the recent COVID-19 lock down period including but not limited to, do we know what’s available, what's coming in the future, and what would we want if we could have it.

Join us in 2020 at this iconic event where our overall theme will be building a clever countryside. Choose how you want to participate and take the opportunity to shape our near future in rural Aotearoa New Zealand.

On  Day 1 we will be hearing from the Hon Kris Faafoi, Minister for  Broadcasting, Communications, and Digital Media; and Mike Smith, Chair  of WISPA and CEO of Ultimate Broadband.

On  Day 2 we will be hearing from Andrew Watene, Associate Director  - Food, Agribusiness and Export Lead at KPMG; H.E. Peter Ryan,  Ambassador to NZ from the Republic of Ireland; and Chris Goldsmith,  NGCC Director at NZ Police.

We  have also significantly reduced the ticket price to $39.99. It's  simple to register here - you get to choose your option for day two when you  buy your ticket.
