Please join us in welcoming the launch of the United Kingdom-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations.

British High Commissioner, Laura Clarke will give a keynote address before our panel, a selection of New Zealand business leaders, share their views on the objectives and implications of the FTA for the business sector.

The Panel

Laura Clarke
Laura took up her role as British High Commissioner to New Zealand, and Governor of the Pitcairn Islands, in January 2018. Her previous role was as Head of the South Asia Department in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and Government Coordinator for India. Prior to joining FCO she worked in the Ministry of Justice, the European Commission, and the British Parliament.

Faye Sumner CNZM
Faye is Chief Executive Officer of the Medical Technology Association of New Zealand (MTANZ). She played a key role in developing and embedding the Code of Practice for the medical technology industry and has provided governance through a range of board appointments in the medical and research fields.

Stephanie Honey
Stephanie is a consultant on international trade policy and government relations. Stephanie worked on a range of roles with the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade over the course of 17 years, primarily focused on trade policy issues. Since leaving the Ministry, Stephanie has worked as an independent trade policy and strategy consultant, focusing mainly on Asian, Australian and European issues for New Zealand government and business clients.  

Jason Reeves
Jason heads up BNZ's engagement with the export sector, a strategic growth focus for the organisation. Supporting Kiwi businesses to land, launch and grow in international markets is a key aspect of Jason's remit. Prior to joining the BNZ, Jason was employed in numerous roles by New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (NZTE). Before joining NZTE Jason spent eight years at Fonterra in the Supply Chain and Global Sales Division with a focus on the Asia Pacific basin.
