Promoted by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise: A Global Opportunity for NZHIT Members

The Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SWITCH) brings together leaders, entrepreneurs, creators, accelerators, and investors from the Global and Asia innovation ecosystems.

Through the open exchange of new ideas, vibrant networks and line-up of innovation-centric activities, SWITCH provides a global platform to catalyse collaboration that bring a meaningful exchange across different fields and markets. The focus industries include healthcare & biomedical sciences, smart cities & urban solutions, trade & connectivity, and emerging sustainable technologies.

In its sixth edition, SWITCH 2021 will feature various innovation and partner programmes culminating in an exciting hybrid festival featuring conferences, the SLINGSHOT Startup Pitching Finals, showcases, roundtables as well as global partner and networking activities. In 2020, SWITCH saw over 15,000 participants from 42 cities across 31 markets, with more than 600 international thought leaders at over 200 conference and masterclass sessions. Together with the Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF), SWITCH will be part of the annual SFF x SWITCH event in November 2021.

SWITCH is organised by Enterprise Singapore (ESG) and supported by National Research Foundation (NRF).

Getting an NZHIT Member Contingent Together

The NZTE team is looking to put together a contingent from New Zealand with a special package and additional services from NZTE (e.g., market insights, stakeholder engagement, market access strategy) depending on volume of demand. There are a limited number of seats supported under the contingent so do act fast. Please reach out to Augustus at NZTE on [email protected] by 19 August end of day.

SWITCH (www.switchsg.org), the world's largest deeptech conference and the leading tech conference in the region, will be running virtually 8-12 Nov. The focus this year is on sustainability and tech for good (e.g., healthtech), so if you are a healthtech company keen on getting a view into the various markets for internationalisation, then this event is for you.

Aside from seminars by global leaders, there will also be Masterclasses on fundraising and expansion under SWITCH GLOBAL, which brings participants through Market Access for regions such as Asia and Oceania.

For those looking to fundraise and build market awareness, there is also Slingshot, Asia’s leading startup competition. You may apply directly via the website, however, 6 of the startups joining the NZTE contingent would be given a fast-track for Slingshot if they are able to sound out their interest to NZTE by 19 August end of day.
