eHealth News: ‘Record day’ for Book My Vaccine

August 17 was a ‘record day’ for Book My Vaccine with more than 195,000 appointments booked via the site.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said during a press conference on August 19 that the previous day was a “record day” for the website.

During the August 18 1pm press conference, more than 7500 people per minute were using the site and “it performed exceptionally well”, said Ardern.

The new national tool for booking Covid-19 vaccinations went live to the public on July 28, 2021 and was described as a “resounding success” by director-general of health Ashley Bloomfield.

The Ministry of Health says that as of 10am on 17 August 2021, there had been more than 2 million bookings created using Book My Vaccine, and there were more than 1.1 million active future bookings in the system.

Nationally, more than 2.6 million vaccine doses have been delivered.

The Ministry of Health has developed Book My Vaccine using the Salesforce plugin Skedulo, which integrates with the National Covid-19 Immunisation Register, built on Salesforce technology.
