URGENT NOTICE RE Grand Hall event on 20 March 2019

Hi Everyone

Following on from my update this morning it is with much regret that I need to inform you that this Wednesday’s function at the Grand Hall has had to be postponed. This is due to a Cabinet decision notified late this afternoon that there will be no functions held at Parliament Buildings for at least this week out of respect to the events of last Friday and the funerals that are under way in Christchurch.  This is totally understandable and obviously has affected numerous functions that had been planned for this week.

Our host for the evening, Louisa Wall (MP for Manurewa and Chair Health Committee) has personally been in touch to extend her apologies and to let us know that she will definitely host this event at a future date.  I’ve assured her that this is a situation that is out of everyone’s ability to foresee or control and thanked Louisa for her continued support. We will work with Louisa’s staff to book another date to hold this event and everyone who has registered for the 20th of March will be given preferential booking options for the new date.

Unfortunately, the very short notice has meant that we’re not able to secure an alternative location for this Wednesday and sincerely apologise for the disruption this may cause.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those family/whanau and friends who have been so tragically impacted by last Friday’s heinous act.  It has been a difficult thing for everyone to comprehend but the support shown throughout New Zealand has demonstrated what the true spirit of this Country is all about.

Kind regards

Scott Arrol MBA (Dist.) MInstD |Chief Executive
