The New Zealand Health Information Standards Organisation (HISO) has released the draft Oral Health Data Standard public consultation

The HISO 10059:2020 Oral Health Data Standard is designed to ensure that information related to dental care is consistently recorded. Standardised data will enable services to be meaningfully benchmarked against each other. A meaningful data set reflecting oral health care information and services can be shared between community and hospital providers to support continuity of care.

To provide high quality oral health care care in New Zealand we need to underpin dental practice with information that supports individual patient care, continuity of care, best practice, and analytics.
