NZHIT is pleased to have supported the development of this roadmap having developed the New Zealand Vision for Interoperability in 2016 and is an advocate for the creation of a fully interoperable environment in New Zealand’s health and disability system.

We were also pleased to be commissioned by the Health & Disability System Review Panel to provide a report on the software applications landscape across New Zealand’s health sector, which included a section on creating an interoperable environment along with other important factors associated with this.

This was completed in April 2019 and a copy can be accessed and downloaded here.

NZHIT is represented on the HISO committee by John Carter who is the Chief Technology Officer at Clanwilliam Health (Asia-Pacific), a NZHIT founding member.

NZHIT members also engage in the area of standards development, feedback and adoption via the Digital Enablers in Health Industry Group (DEHIG), which is open to participation to all NZHIT members.
