Nikki is the GM People – Revenue & Employee Engagement at Air New Zealand Limited. She provides strategic HR support to Air New Zealand’s Revenue division, and has responsibility across Air New Zealand for Talent Acquisition and Management, Diversity & Inclusion, Employee Engagement, Employee Experience, and Future of Work. Nikki previously worked as employment lawyer in New Zealand and the United Kingdom for over 15 years, becoming a Partner at a boutique employment law firm, Langton Hudson Butcher. She joined Air New Zealand in 2013 as Senior Legal Counsel (People), and has moved through a number of general management roles, including leading Air New Zealand’s 1150 Jet pilots, and the company’s people and operations at Auckland Domestic Airport. In her role as General Manager Pilots, Nikki and her team implemented several initiatives focused on improving pilot gender diversity and creating a more inclusive culture, including an external strategy to promote aviation as a career to females. This is one element of the overall Air New Zealand diversity and inclusion strategy sitting within Nikki’s portfolio, which has been focused on increasing female numbers in senior leadership roles, and growing Air New Zealand’s Māori and Pasifika leadership numbers.
