Founder & CEO Healthcare Logic (Australia)
Share| Synopsis High-velocity data for clinical engagement and performance improvement In his address, Professor Martin Connor of Griffith University will present an argument about why traditional approaches to healthcare analytics often fail to generate visceral engagement with senior clinicians. The essence of his argument is that the lack of automation coupled with a combination of aggregation, infrequency and long time-lags mask variation. This makes it impossible to produce the type of timely patient and clinician level data that system leaders need to see to identify and agree on opportunities for improvement. He will also present a working example of software that has emerged as the product of his R&D group with a view to stimulating a conversation about how change management could be improved using new technologies. Professor Connor has worked in or studied strategic health improvement for almost two decades, across five countries (UK, Northern Ireland, USA, Republic of Ireland, and Australia). Considered a thought leader in healthcare innovation, his work has been published in leading journals including the British Medical Journal and Social Science and Medicine.
