What's good (and not so good) about New Zealand's digital health space, what's happening (or not happening) internationally and what are we going to do about it?

This is an industry focused workshop exploring the best of both worlds and identifying key ‘work-ons’ that will make a difference. It is open for any HiNZ Conference delegates to attend (i.e. it is not a closed "industry only" session) and cross-sector participation is encouraged.

This workshop presents an excellent opportunity to hear from, and interact with, international and local leaders in their fields (not just from the health sector) sharing their knowledge about operating in New Zealand and internationally.

The programme will include introductory presentations by keynote speakers and will conclude with an hour-long panel discussion, which will provide workshop attendees the opportunity to ask questions, comment and interact with the panel members.

The workshop will pose some key questions and identify 2-3 key areas for ongoing engagement (that will link to NZHIT's New Zealand HealthTech Opportunities Report) –

  • What makes NZ attractive to global players?
  • What's happening on the global stage that we can learn from?
  • What's happening in New Zealand - what's good? what needs to change?
  • How can internatinoal and national players work together to maximise their potential both in NZ and offshore?
  • How does the whole health sector engage to innovate, deliver and sustain?

Keynote speakers and panelists will include:

  • Shayne Hunter, DDG Data & Digital, Ministry of Health
  • Humphrey Wikeepa, Digital Advisory, Te Puni Kokiri
  • Kate Quirke, MD & CEO, Alcidion Group Ltd
  • Graeme Muller, CEO, NZTech
  • Karen Mason, Coalitions Mgr, NZ Trade & Enterprise
  • Gabe Rijpma, CEO, Aceso Health
